WAP Push SMS

HSL operate a WAP Push Proxy Gateway (WAP PPG) to allow clients to send WAP Push messages via SMS to mobile telephones. The HSL WAP PPG can be used to send bookmarks, MMS notifications and notifications for mobiles to retrieve specific content.

Examples of uses of the service include

• The sending of news headlines via WAP Push that would allow the user to immediately download the news story.
• Sending of a link to a mobile phone to allow the user to download a logo or ringtone that they have purchased.

The HSL PPG supports the Push Access Protocol (PAP) over HTTP. Please refer to the WAP Push Proxy Gateway Service Guide for details on this service.
