SMS text messaging is being used by construction firms for managing employees at job sites. Workers can send information on time spent on jobs as they are completed, they can also submit their job and time information from the field, eliminating the need for paper time sheets. Vehicle maintenance can also be reported via SMS to management, as well as mileage and fuel use.

In property management SMS is being used to increase the response of tenants to late payment requests. This in turn reduces the cost of chasing payments. Further examples include keeping in contact with maintenance contractors and landlords, information being conveyed for house sales and purchases.
