Transport
The use of SMS within the Transport sector is exceptionally varied.
Rail and airline passengers are now benefitting from using mobile ticketing. Airlines are also using SMS to communicate with passengers by providing updates concerning changes or cancellations to passenger flights, or general service information.
Courier firms use SMS solutions to offer customers a means of tracking packages globally. Customers are able to quickly find out the status of a package by simply sending a text message to the courier company with the tracking ID and they will receive an automated SMS with the status of the package in a matter of seconds. This solution is ideal for companies wishing to increase customer satisfaction and repeat business as it provides a more efficient service.
Logistic companies use SMS to track vehicles and drivers worldwide as well as providing a cost effective solution for two-way communication with drivers. Aspects of vehicle maintenance and performance can also be reported via SMS to operations as an example of M2M, as well as mileage and fuel use.
